It is important to
remember that if you are used to burning paraffin candles you are in for
a wonderful surprise. 100% soy wax candles are a "kinder and gentler"
candle and are all natural. That means that, unlike paraffin candles,
they have a different "throw" (amount of scent you smell in your room
while they are burning) and you are not releasing any unhealthy or
unnatural chemicals into the air. In paraffin you will find chemicals
that will, without any doubt, make your candles smell stronger.
We are not coming out against paraffin candles, but the fact is that paraffin is a petroleum-based wax and with that come chemicals you will find in any petroleum-based product. Have you ever noticed that blackening on your ceiling or walls after burning candles for any length of time? Not only does it look "sooty", but if you run your finger across it, you will find that it can feel "oily" and try to repaint your room without removing it first!
Are we saying paraffin is unsafe? In fact, the FDA approves paraffin for everything from packaging to medical applications. But, the fact is that you get what you get and that is why a large number of people (and growing daily) are choosing the all-natural, from soy plant in the field to your home soy candles. We know you will love them once you try them, but please remember something important as you place your order:
~ The number of candles you buy to enjoy need to be based on where you will be using them. If you have an average-sized bathroom and order one of our 6.5 oz. candles (or even a votive), to add a pleasant scent to your "spa time", then one will be enough.
~ Take that same candle into your huge living room with cathedral ceilings and windows you love to leave open in the summer, then you won't smell that one candle unless you are sitting next to it. You probably want to order at least 3 or 4 of the 8 oz. candles or 2 or 3 of the 10 oz. or 15 oz. (we also pour 26 ouncers when requested!)
~ As you burn your soy candles you will notice another difference. Soy candles will burn down not leaving a thick layer of unused wax on the side of the container. How many times have you looked into this wax "tunnel" only to find your wick has completely burned down, but there is still a thick layer of wax still on the sides of your container? That doesn't happen with soy wax and you receive fully 99% to 100% of burn in what you pay for. Soy wax, if there is any residue at all on the sides of your container is easily wiped out with warm water and plain old dish soap. Reuse your container by using our ideas.
